*Taps mic* Is this thing on?

Six months, one degree, and a big ol’ pile of dinnerware later, I’ve decided to get back to blogging with new software, a new domain, and a comfortable veil of anonymity. The first, because Greymatter is, like, so 2001 (and didn’t allow for the spiffy categories you’ll be seeing here - admit it, you’re impressed); the second, because I’d tired of my old domain name years ago, and figured it was high time I got a new one; the third, because…well, because I reserve the right to limit the number and type of bridges I choose to burn.

I’m still tweaking things around here, since I don’t know the first thing about CSS (see also: “so 2001″), but here’s what you have to look forward to here at at Tall, Dark, and Mysterious: cranky rants about graduate school in general and my experience in particular; Canadian content of various flavours; photos of my pottery; eh…stay tuned.

2nd, we see only one category so far… oooooh. I did get to see the whole lot, and was impressed with the interface, so I think I know what I’m going to be doing the Independence Day weekend….

  2. I didn’t know what a URI was either, but I mouseovered the term, and it said “Uniform Resource Identifier” - hmm. This template is modified only slightly from the sample I downloaded. Oh - WordPress is difficult to customize (so far - again, I’m just learning CSS) but it’s easy to install and get going. You’ll be able to get a blog running, if you want, before most people have woken up to enjoy the long weekend.

As for categories, they’ll show up as I use ‘em. Patience, patience.
